New Delhi,North Delhi Strikers displayed a complete team performance to register a 19-run victory over Outer Delhi Warriors in a gripping contest of the Delhi Premier League (DPL) Season 2, held at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
Batting first after winning the toss, North Delhi Strikers posted a competitive total of 163/7 in 20 overs. The innings was anchored by opener Sarthak Ranjan, who played a superb knock of 77 runs off 50 balls, hitting 7 fours and 5 sixes. He was well supported by Vaibhav Kandpal, who scored a steady 38 off 33 balls. Contributions from Arjun Rapria (17 off 9)\ and Pranav Rajvanshi (8 off 5) added valuable runs at the end.
For Outer Delhi Warriors, Harsh Tyagi was the most impressive bowler with tight figures of 2/19 in 4 overs, while Siddhant Sharma and Kamal Bairwa also chipped in with two wickets each.
Chasing 164 for victory, Outer Delhi Warriors made a decent start but lost key wickets at regular intervals. Wicketkeeper-batter Keshav Dabas top-scored with a fighting 40 off 26 balls, and Sanat Sangwan contributed 32 off 33, but the team struggled to build strong partnerships.
North Delhi’s bowlers kept the pressure on, with Vikas Dixit leading the charge with a brilliant spell of 3/19 in 4 overs. Kuldip Yadav also claimed 3/32, while Harshit Rana bagged 2 wickets to seal the win for their side.
Outer Delhi Warriors could only manage 144/9 in their 20 overs, falling short by 19 runs.
