East Delhi Riders Clinch Two-Run Victory Over West Delhi Lions in DPL Season 2

New Delhi – East Delhi Riders pulled off a dramatic two-run win against West Delhi Lions in a last-ball thriller of the Delhi Premier League (DPL) Season 2 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, moving to the top of the points table with nine points from six matches.

Batting first, East Delhi Riders posted 158/8 after losing an early wicket at 10 runs. Arpit Rana’s brilliant 71 off 47 balls, with seven fours and three sixes, and Hardik Sharma’s solid 50 off 37 balls built the innings with a 102-run stand for the second wicket. However, a late collapse slowed the scoring. For West Delhi Lions, Manan Bhardwaj was the standout bowler with 3/26, while captain Nitish Rana claimed 2/31.

In reply, West Delhi Lions came close but fell short, finishing at 156/7 in 20 overs. Krish Yadav anchored the chase with 44 off 39 balls, while Ankit Kumar’s explosive 42 from just 16 balls, featuring two fours and five sixes, kept the Lions in contention. However, disciplined bowling from Mayank Rawat (2/18) and Rounak Waghela (2/23) in the death overs secured the Riders’ win.

East Delhi Riders – 158/8 (20 overs): Arpit Rana 71 (47), Hardik Sharma 50 (37), Manan Bhardwaj 3/26
West Delhi Lions – 156/7 (20 overs): Krish Yadav 44 (39), Ankit Kumar 42 (16), Mayank Rawat 2/18
