New Delhi — The Arun Jaitley Stadium witnessed a run-fest as East Delhi Riders pulled off the highest successful chase in Delhi Premier League (DPL) history, defeating Outer Delhi Warriors by five wickets in a thrilling contest.
Set a daunting target of 232, the Riders reached the finish line with four balls to spare.Earlier, Warriors’ opener Priyansh Arya lit up the ground with a stunning 111 off 56 balls, hitting 7 fours and 9 sixes. He was supported by Karan Garg (43 off 24 balls) as the team posted 231/7 in 20 overs.
In reply, the Riders were in trouble at 51/3, but Arpit Rana (79 off 45 balls) and skipper Anuj Rawat (84 off 35 balls) turned the game with a brilliant 130-run stand for the fourth wicket. Their aggressive strokeplay sealed a historic win and secured the Riders’ place in the record books.
