Filmmaker Swatantra (Savi) Goyal’s upcoming film “Imli, The Archer” is set to release across India on September 12. The film narrates an inspiring story of a tribal girl, Imli (played by Prasanna Bisht), who possesses an extraordinary talent for archery—despite having no formal training.
The story unfolds when a government sports officer accidentally discovers Imli’s exceptional skill and urges her parents to send her to a sports academy for a brighter future. With the right guidance and the selfless training of Coach Mr. Iyer (played by Vikram Kochar), Imli’s perseverance and determination lead her to become a National Archery Champion.
Director Swatantra Goyal has crafted this narrative with sensitivity and emotion, aiming to inspire not only the youth but also rural and tribal families to recognize their daughters’ hidden talents and take advantage of government initiatives like Khelo India.
A former senior officer at State Bank of India who later moved to the United States, Goyal returned to Bollywood in 2016 with a mission to create patriotic and motivational films that ignite passion and encourage people to chase their dreams. Over the past eight years, he has made eight impactful films and plans to release a new film every year.
“Imli, The Archer” features three soulful songs, powerful storytelling, and stellar performances by Vikram Kochar, Prasanna Bisht, Harshad Shinde, Man Singh Meena, Ratan Lal, Jyoti, and the talented Pragya Mishra. The music is composed by Dushyant Dubey, while the cinematography is handled by Raja Fadtare, both promising to deliver an unforgettable cinematic experience.
