New Delhi – Outer Delhi Warriors put on a dominant all-round display to thrash Purani Dilli 6 by 82 runs in the sixth match of the Delhi Premier League (DPL) Season 2, held at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
After being put in to bat, Outer Delhi posted a total of 148 runs, thanks to a fiery start by openers Priyansh Arya (16) and Sanat Sangwan (26), followed by late contributions from Harsh Tyagi (17) and captain Siddhant Sharma (21). However, the middle and lower order crumbled under pressure from Udhav Mohan, who delivered a sensational spell, picking up 5 wickets for 26 runs in 4 overs.
Despite being restricted to a modest total, the Warriors bounced back brilliantly with the ball.
Young leg-spinner Suyash Sharma led the charge in the powerplay, picking up 3 crucial wickets—Samarth Seth (18), Vansh Bedi (1), and Pranav Pant (6). His early breakthroughs left Purani Dilli 6 reeling at 31/4.
Things went from bad to worse for Purani Dilli as pacer Shaurya Malik unleashed a fiery spell, removing Yug Gupta (1) and Ekansh Dobal (0) in successive deliveries before trapping Aayush Singh (4) in front. His triple strike dismantled any hopes of a comeback.
Suyash Sharma returned to claim his fourth, dismissing Rajneesh Dadar (5), while Harsh Tyagi ended the innings by getting rid of Lalit Yadav (20)—the lone batter to put up any resistance.
Purani Dilli 6 were bowled out for just 66 runs in 14.3 overs, handing Outer Delhi Warriors a massive 82-run victory and valuable momentum in the tournament.
