New Delhi – Purani Dilli 6 held their nerve in a tense finish to defeat West Delhi Lions by 15 runs in a thrilling contest of the Delhi Premier League (DPL) Season 2 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
Batting first, Purani Dilli 6 posted a strong total of 186/6 in 20 overs. Samarth Seth led the charge with a composed 52 off 36 balls, while Dev Lakra added a valuable 47 from 31 deliveries. A quick cameo by Ekansh Dobal (20\* off 11) ensured a strong finish to the innings.
In reply, West Delhi Lions struggled early but were kept in the hunt by a sensational century from Ayush Doseja, who single-handedly took the fight to the opposition. Despite his brilliant effort, lack of support from the other end saw the Lions fall short, finishing at 171/8 in their 20 overs.
Rajneesh Dadar starred with the ball for Purani Dilli 6, returning impressive figures of 2/19 in his four overs and playing a crucial role in halting the Lions’ momentum.
