New Delhi-West Delhi Lions registered a commanding 8-wicket win over South Delhi Superstarz in the ongoing Season 2 of the Delhi Premier League (DPL), held at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
Chasing 186, the Lions’ openers Ankit Kumar and Krish Yadav delivered a stunning performance, putting on a 158-run partnership in just 14 overs. Krish Yadav scored 67 off 42 balls, while Ankit Kumar missed out on a century by just four runs, smashing 96 off 46 balls with 11 fours and 6 sixes.
Earlier, South Delhi Superstarz posted 185/7, thanks to solid contributions from Kunwar Bidhuri (42), Sumit Mathur (33), and captain Ayush Badoni (48 off 25). However, the momentum shifted in the death overs as the Lions’ bowlers tightened their grip.
Anirudh Chowdhary starred with the ball, claiming 3 wickets for 25 runs. Manan Bhardwaj picked up 2/23, and Hrithik Shokeen added 1/16 to restrict the Superstarz.
With this win, West Delhi Lions showcased a dominant all-round performance and continue to strengthen their position in DPL 2025.
