New Delhi — The Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2025 continued to produce fireworks as West Delhi Lions chased down a massive target of 209 to defeat East Delhi Riders by 7 wickets at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
Put in to chase, the Lions showcased fearless batting, led by opener Krish Yadav, who hammered 62 runs off just 29 balls. His explosive start laid the foundation for a commanding chase.Ayush Doseja anchored the innings with a match-winning knock of 84 not out off 48 balls, guiding his team to victory with poise and precision.
Skipper Nitish Rana added to the momentum with a quickfire 39 off 15 deliveries, ensuring the Lions remained ahead of the asking rate throughout the chase. The target was achieved in just 17.3 overs, marking one of the most successful run chases in DPL history.
Earlier, East Delhi Riders posted a challenging total of 208/4 in their 20 overs. Captain Anuj Rawat starred with the bat, smashing an unbeaten 73 off 38 balls, supported by fluent knocks from Arpit Rana (44 off 28) and Mayank Rawat (40 off 28).
Despite their strong batting display, East Delhi’s bowlers had no answers for the Lions’ relentless attack. The victory strengthens West Delhi Lions’ position in the tournament and keeps fans on the edge with more high-scoring contests expected ahead.
