Kantara: A Legend AD Srikanth Puppala teams up with Prernaa Arora for his debut directorial

Having worked as an assistant director on films like Kantara: A Legend- Chapter 1 and Gopala Gopala, Srikanth Puppala is set to helm his debut directorial feature film. For this venture, he is collaborating with ace producer Prernaa Arora, who has backed films like Pad Man, Rustom, Parmanu- The Story of Pokhran and Jatadhara.

Excited about this new journey, Srikanth says, “Every filmmaker dreams of the day when a story they believe in is entrusted to them. Today, I find myself at that moment. That ‘One day I want to direct a film’ to ‘I am directing a film’, the moment is finally happening for me.”

He adds, “This is the result of years spent learning the craft — through story discussions, rewrites, long days on sets, successes, setbacks and the invaluable opportunity to learn from filmmakers I deeply admire.”

Srikanth is thankful to Zee Studios, Prerna Arora, Kiran Abbavaram for placing their faith in him to carry the story with his vision. “Their belief has given me the opportunity to take this next step in my journey. I am grateful, excited and deeply aware of the responsibility that comes with this opportunity. I look forward to giving audiences a film that is honest, entertaining and worthy of the faith that has been placed in me,” he says.
