India – The Ramanujan Talent Search Foundation has announced the launch of the Bharat Mathematics Olympiad, a prestigious national-level mathematics competition aimed at identifying, nurturing, and celebrating young mathematical talent across India. It is the First ever Olympiad that is from class 3 to 11, excluding the foundation stage and class 12 following the pattern envisioned in NEP 2020, NCFSC 2023.
Inspired by the extraordinary legacy of Srinivasa Ramanujan, one of the greatest mathematical minds in history, the Olympiad seeks to ignite a passion for numbers, logical thinking, and problem-solving among school students. Questions are Competency based and PISA based following Bloom Taxonomy. Indian Knowledge System and Vedic Math question will be included from this year.Besides math, it is also running Olympiad in Science, Hindi and English.
The initiative reflects a growing movement in India to build a strong foundation in analytical and creative mathematics from an early age.
