Iran’s Chief Justice Ayatollah Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei Offers Friday Prayers at Delhi’s Historic Jama Masjid

New Delhi, Iran’s Chief Justice, Ayatollah Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei, who is currently on a visit to India, offered Friday (Juma) prayers at the historic Jama Masjid in New Delhi on Friday.

His visit to the iconic mosque attracted considerable attention, with a large number of worshippers and visitors gathering to catch a glimpse of the senior Iranian dignitary. Many people also came forward to greet him and shake hands with him following the Friday prayers.

Ayatollah Mohseni-Ejei was accompanied by Dr. Mohammad Fathali, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to India, during his visit to Jama Masjid.Dr. Abdul Majid Hakeem Elahi and Syed Taqi Haider Naqvi were also present on the occasion.

The Iranian Chief Justice offered prayers alongside other worshippers at the historic mosque, which has remained an important religious and cultural landmark of Delhi for centuries.

Following the prayers, Ayatollah Mohseni-Ejei interacted briefly with people present at the mosque. Worshippers welcomed him warmly, with many expressing enthusiasm at the opportunity to meet the Iranian dignitary and exchange greetings.

His visit to Jama Masjid comes during his India tour and highlights the longstanding cultural, historical and people-to-people ties between India and Iran. The presence of the Iranian Ambassador and other members of the delegation further underlined the significance of the visit.

The visit also drew considerable public interest, as worshippers gathered in large numbers around the Iranian Chief Justice to greet him and convey their respects.
